Geode Jewelry...

So lately I have been fascinated by rocks, gemstones, minerals, and geodes. During my search for some geodes of my own I came across these jewelry designers on etsy.com featuring some beautiful geodes and thought I would share. After looking at the beautiful work of these designers I am so excited to take my first Art Metals class this semester where I will get to play around with making my own pendants and rings. I cannot wait!

Outfit Post Numbero Uno!

So after some lounging around today on my day off of work, I have finally managed to get my but out bed after watching The View with Nora the Dog. After taking a cue from some ladies yesterday, here are two outfits I've put together.

So this was the outfit that started off the day. Pretty similar to something I would currently wear to work, just spiced up with a scarf and some jewelry.

cardigan: Gap/scarf: thrifted/v-neck: Hanes/Jeans: PacSun/shoes: Westies via thrifted

Now after viewing this picture I am starting to think it is time to retire this cardigan. It has been a staple in my wardrobe this winter for work and it is definitely looking tired.

Then I decided that nope I needed to spice it up, and being my day off I started to think up an outfit that would work for both lounging around the house but also something that I could turn into a work outfit. So here with the leggings my tattoo is nice and tucked away where no one can see it! Now if only I had ironed this skirt.. definitely my laundry pile needs tending too.

skirt: target/pocket v-neck:target/striped sweater: Kohl's/leggings: Hollister (the one and only item of clothing I own from there)/belt: thrifted

My cutie, Nora the Dog, decided that she wanted to be in my outfit post too, we'll have to work on her staying out of the way next time. And also I suppose how to hide the remote! So I am headed off to the printmaking lab, time is definitely counting down until my senior show in May, and I have tons of work to get done. Only two weeks left until my final semester of college starts, and I was hoping to have some prints done before then when the labs start to fill up with students trying to print all at once!

Thanks to the readers too ventured over to my little blog as I am getting started! It means a lot!

Work Attire

So at this point in my life I am working the weird limbo college job, but a great college job at that, but none the less after being there for a few years I find I am in a work clothes rut! I can pretty much wear whatever at work as long as it covers tattoos, no shorts or tanks, but skirts and dresses are fine as long as you have tights or nylons on. So not to bad, yet I've never actually worn a skirt or dress to work being that I do custom framing at a local craft store. It does tend to get kind of dusty and gross on some days. Plus the tattoo on the calf of my leg doesn't help the matter! So I am stuck in an endless cycle of skinny jeans, v-neck tees and cardigans. Comfortable for this nasty Wisconsin weather. Lately though I have had such an urge to spice things up. I love skirts and dresses and live in them all summer long, and lately I have noticed some great styles from some other bloggers that I just might have to start working into my daily routine!

She always has such the perfect combinations of cute pencil skirt/tight/comfy shoes/flattering tee. I think I could definately take a few tips from this outfit.

www.delightfully-tacky.com
This lovely lady always has such great ways to mix up a simple dress with lots of layers!! Key to keeping warm in Wisconsin weather.

www.keikolynn.blogspot.com
I love this look from Keiko Lynn that keeps in feminine and professional, I think I am now going to be on the hunt for some long sleeve tops with great details like this one.

I think these looks incorporating many layers and a mix of basics with a few key pieces could really help turn my work wardrobe around this winter. Any other suggestions are more than welcome!

Ps. I know I haven't showed an outfit post quite yet so some of you may be wondering what in the world my work outfits do look like, so stay tuned tomorrow for a few outfit shots!

Introducing...

So after reading/stalking tons of blogs and becoming drawn into the world of blogging I figured it was about time to start my own. I would to have a place to post some of the inspiring things I come across on the world wide web daily.

My name is Sabrina Marie and I am currently a Fine Art student focusing on photography and printmaking at a college in Wisconsin. Most of my art work focuses on textures and patterns found within nature. I think going along with being someone who on a daily basis who is trying to tap into their creativity, I also am drawing to expressing myself in fashion, and I am very interested in sewing, knitting, and overall crafty bits here and there.

Still getting used to the whole blogging thing, watch out for more posts!
